Eco-anxiety, anybody?

I read this article the other day while I was waiting at the chiropractor, and thought I would share it with all of you. It thought it was so funny and so true!
I hope you get a good laugh out of it like I did... "It's Inconvenient Being Green".
My favorite part is about the napkin; my kids must be on to something!

Girl, you've been blogging a lot lately. I love it!

Okay, thank you so much for this! I needed a good laugh, and the last paragraph was so funny. My fave parts are:
"I have installed the low-energy lights I bought at Home Depot, even though they make my living room look like a gas-station toilet."
And:
"But there's one thing I won't give up. If he wants my toilet paper, Al Gore himself will have to pry it from my cold, biodegradable hands."

I love toilet paper, and I use too much. But that is one thing I never plan on changing when it comes to being eco-friendly!

When I first started reading blogs last summer, there was a lot posted about this very subject, and I began to get anxious. I ran out and bought reusable bags from TJs, Rite Aid, Costco (rip-off!) and church. And I use them, and I am glad. But now, months later, I no longer fret about how eco-friendly I am. Honestly, I'll do my part and I'll really try where I can, but I have much more important things to spend my energy on: Eric, Amber & Autumn (not to mention extended family, scads of friends and also teens who need to know Jesus). So, I really don't care anymore. And I refuse to get emotionally swept up into feeling "bad" for using more toiler paper squares than Al Gore says we should.

And if you really want to know how I feel....

: )

My "God is Green," bag has become a lucky charm for my purse ... it's like, why even have it on there, as the RiteAid cashier hands me my purchased items in a plastic bag?? Baby steps and time. Just think how much easier all of this eco stuff will be for our kids.
I had never thought of the Scharmin commercials as so ironic -- a bear going to the bathroom behind a tree and then user paper(tree) to clean up after himself ... hmm ....advertisers are so good at making us feel like we are being all-natural even when we are buying more paper products! Good post Gina.
