I taught the boys, Billy included, how to play the game "Spoons" last night. After playing it at the Ladies Retreat, and nearly having to take a trip to the hospital (okay, slight exaggeration, but they did have to separate me and Laurisa), I thought it would be a good idea to teach the boys for our family game night. Not exactly sure why I thought this was a good idea, since this game usually gets pretty ugly, but hey, I guess we could learn a bit of sportsmanship. Besides, if I have to play one more game of "Sorry!" on a Thursday night..... ughh.It was getting late and we decided to speed things up a bit by eliminating immediately the one who didn't get the spoon on that round. Zane went out first (followed by a quick nagging... err, lesson of the difference of good and bad sportsmanship), then Billy (who of course teased Zane by crying just as loud as he did), and so then it was up to me and Riley (7). One spoon between us, the first one to get four of a kind wins. Riley's really excited at this point, so he says in this totally mature tone of voice, like he knows exactly what he's talking about, "This is going to be CLASSIC!" Can ya'll hear the tone I'm talkin' about? Followed up quickly, almost under his breath, by saying, "Whatever that means."
Classic.
Side note: I guess Zane got out of bed later, too, to come ask Billy, "So what does 'classic' mean?"

I'm so glad you taught your kids spoons. What a fun idea. We should try that. Our kids would love it.
That's classic! : )
I love the little baby spoon!
Okay, so what's with the single elimination on Spoons. That is SO not how you play the game! (I'm not bitter about the retreat or anything, even though Rhonda & I totally won)!
Oh, and I can just see your rowdy boys playing that game. Does Casse play?
Hey, you could always borrow Candy Land...Eric & I are pretty sick of that game, too!
No, we haven't taught Casse yet. And what's Candy Land?
LOL, just kidding! We've actually never played it though, we're more into Chutes and Ladders.
glad you guys had fun : )
