What is up with my kids? What is up with me? I just don't have the "potty training gene." Either that or I was blessed with kids that have a delayed connection between bladder and brain at a young age. I swear, couldn't I have had ONE kid out of FOUR that potty trained early? Seriously.
Last month Keira turned 3 (... more commonly known in our house as "free", not "three"). I've been trying to keep her in panties while we're at home so she can realize when she's going. I'm fully prepared for the accidents and all that entails, which is not fun. I have her clean up the mess by rinsing out her panties and soaking up the puddle with a towel repeatedly, like 3 or 4 times "repeatedly." I assist a little to make sure it's a good enough job, but really, I try to make it as difficult as possible so that she realizes what a pain in the butt it is and that it would be SO much easier to just sit on the potty in the first place. But you know what my dear daughter LOVES to do??? She loves cleaning up puddles with towels!!! She gets this big smile on her face and literally bounces from puddle to sink, sink to puddle, and so on and so forth. I guess if I really wanted to prove a point to her, I should clean it up all by myself. That would show her! Crap, maybe she's doing reverse psychology on me?!
I give her incentives/bribes (whichever way you look at it); she gets one jelly bean for pee and two for poo. She won't poop in her panties, which is nice, but I'm so sick of cleaning up pee! It's gonna be a lovely day when we can get new carpet here. Oh happy day!
Well, I just had to get that off my chest and I thought this would be a good place to do it. I apologize, 'cause I'm sure not everyone wants to know about my kids' potty training problems. I'm SO glad I don't have to do this again after Keira!!

Vent sista, vent! We can take it. I hope it gets easier.
I am so with you. Except that I won't be done after this. =)
Wow, thought I should clarify... I won't be done after potty training Noah. =)
So... yea... Harley is STILL not potty trained at 3 1/2... so I hear you... good days and bad days...
