The Honesty of Kids

The other day I decided to get ready in the afternoon, rather early for a party that was later that evening. I curled my hair with a smaller curling iron than I normally would use so the curls were tighter ringlet style curls. I knew that it would relax a little by the time the party came, just as I wanted. It was super full of body and actually pretty cute (if I don't mind saying so myself).

As soon as I was finished with my hair it was time to meet the boys at the bus stop. I saw Riley's face looking out the bus window when they pulled up; he looked rather bored staring out into the blah-ness.... until he saw me that is. His eyes about popped out of his head. I started to blush and think, "Wow! My 8-year old son thinks I look pretty! How sweet!"

The boys step down off the bus with their eyes riveted on me and Riley says, "Wow Mom! Is it crazy hair day?"

My mouth drops and I told him that it was supposed to look pretty, to which he replies, "Oh, okay, but I'm going with 'crazy hair day.' "

Sigh.

Luckily my level of self-esteem rose back up when all the ladies at the party complimented me on my hair-do.

Added note: the pic of Riley is after he got back from a ride in the sandrail, so he had "crazy hair day" too!

Okay, but where's the picture of your hair??? Now I am SO curious!!! =)
Yeah, my sweet husband is one of those people who will tell me that I look stupid when I do. Now I have four more to make sure I really get the message! =)

There you go Lisa! At first I was going to say that I didn't have a pic of me that night, but then I remembered that Christine took one of me with the wreath I made.
(I went to two parties that night.)

Let me see, first I had a knee injury (rather embarrassing), then I had surgery for my endometreosis, then we went to Dumont for Thanksgiving week. I've been able to do my eliptical machine for most of the time, so that's what's been saving my butt... literally! LOL!
